The Perfect McStorm!

It's nearly 3 in the am and I'm on about hour of 3.5 of 5-Hour Energy. I decided to take a small break from my night devoted to obesity. (I'm writing a paper, I don't just mean me eating a lot... but that has certainly been happening also. That leftover pumpkin roll didn't stand a chance.) Want some fun facts?

  • There is enough food produced in the U.S. for each man, woman and child to consume 3,800 calories per day. What the. It's risen from 3,300 in the 70's, which is intense, but I kind of can't figure out how it was even that high back then. It's kind of blowing my argument that the food industry is to blame for Fatmerica. Whether or not I actually believe that to be true, the verdict is still out.
  • Obesity has become the main nutrition problem, ironically, surpassing hunger. And that isn't even just in the U.S. Permission to submit one of these: WTF?
  • For the first time in two centuries, the life expectancy of children is now less than that of their parents.
  • SuperSize Me is a sweet documentary. (By sweet I mean salty. By salty, I don't mean risque and wrought with [too much] bad language, but rather sodium and the like.) I know, I'm like 5 years late, right? It took me about three years to realize it wasn't a Michael Moore film, and then another two to actually get around to seeing more than just snippets of the thing. It's pretty McInteresting.
Bored.

I came across a nice little $5 find at the DI the other day on my quest for an angel food cake tin.

ah, see? it's a BOWL

Pretty terribly tarnished, right? But such a cool serving bowl, and it even has a lid (not previously shown). So I went and picked up some silver polish, and wha-la! (can someone help with the spelling of that? I have a feeling that it's of French origin, and I just took a giant American language crap all over it. But I digress.)

Isn't she pretty? After almost an hour of scrubbing and raw, charcoal-colored fingers, it turned out even more lovely than I thought it would, and will be perfect for potatoes or something for Fakesgiving at my mom's.

I hope this energy stuff runs out pretty quick, because it's finally that time of night where my eyeballs are bloated and my face feels like I rubbed a buttery piece of Texas Toast all over it.

all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.

Really, I've been all ICON this summer (hence the lack of blogging. Blog-lacking. Blacking. Blocking. There's something there). Like, I'm kind of surprised I'm not carrying ICON's baby, because it's been a little ridiculous how much I've been here. I'm probably exaggerating. It's subsided since school began, which has been nice. So I'm generally at one of those places, making me (Jack) a dull boy (person).

That being said, I'm posting what I've been working on this week. I got to retouch a few images of Jillian Michaels that are going on the packaging of our iFit light exercise line. (Can I just add: SLAMMIN' BOD) I wish we could say that we got to shoot them in-house, but they were shot by Joseph Puhy (Jillian's exclusive photog) in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. She was here in Logan last month doing some videos for the same line, but we didn't get to hang out and have pillow fights and watch Sixteen Candles this time.

I was going to include the shots before I edited them as well, but got lazy. Feedback?

Oh, and this.

Hah!

And then I sucked at blogging for some months...

Hello! I'm alive. And about to make a comeback.

pardon my language, but...

the shit has officially hit ICON's fan:

This includes many of my friends from work, and 3 very close friends from my department.

It sucks.

basements are cold. i should know.

Hi all. It has been a busy couple of weeks! I moved [again], this time, guess where... back into my mother's house! So that's something.

Christmas was awesome! Other than I had to have it out with some Abercrombie customer service reps about their shipping policies. I ordered a couple of things for Dev that ended up arriving, mm... like a few days ago. But anyway. Dev replaced himself as my BFF by giving me this (and completely disregarding our spending limit):

No, not Nelly Furtado, although that might have been fun. The black one. He's awesome. By he I mean iPod. By iPod I mean Frankie Four-Fingers.

School is back on. So basically I'm either there or at ICON all the time. Maybe one day I'll graduate.

Now it's that time in the post... my cute nephew Dylan! He's turning into a little fatty!

Oh, and Rhett and Link have done something funny again.
